Meet Wade Papin and Danielle Wilmore, the artists behind the Vancouver-based 18th and 19th century wax seal inspired jewelry line known as Pyrrha. Their unique collection is fashioned using talismans as inspiration to imprint historic and meaningful designs onto necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and other accessories.
Finding their Signature Style
Talismans. Ever come across an old box of them? Wade and Danielle came across a box and the rest, as they say, is history. The couple thought that they were unique enough to have a special, permanent place as a stylish, vintage accessory. Many attempts were made to make it work. There were mistakes and successes until they produced pieces that they really believed could stick. In the end, they had Pyrrha, a jewelry line straight out of their home in Vancouver.
In speaking about their vision, they had this to say: “In starting our line, we always knew that there was a constant glut of mass-produced overseas factory made jewelry and we did not want to be a part of that.”
These pieces are truly immune to current fashion trends as they are meant to be a bit more meaningful than the everyday accessory. Every piece is sterling silver, 14k gold or bronze from real 19th century talismans. Each piece is also guaranteed to be unique, as they are handmade in the couple’s home.
Several celebrities have been seen wearing this unique accessory. Such celebs include Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Taylor Swift and even Brad Pitt.
Pyrrha even makes it into our favorite works of fiction. You can frequently see the pieces on shows like Weeds, CSI, and they have even made it to print in Cosmo and Vogue.
Pyrrha's handcrafted jewelry is sold worldwide. Check out Liberty of London, Fred Segal LA, Le Bon Marche Paris, United Arrows of Japan, as well as at the Pyrrha store in Los Angeles.
