Hearts

Dress ~ Forever 21
Quartz Cuff ~ c/o hearts.com (use FAB30 for 30% off by 5/21)
Sunglasses ~ Ray Bans
Necklace ~ Forever 21

Hearts.com sent me this gorgeous Quartz Energy Cuff, and I'm loving its beauty as much as the lovely story behind it. These cuffs are ethically produced, and crowned with raw stones. Colorless and transparent, Quartz is considered a healing stone that aids in relaxation and visualization.

Every piece contributes to the quality of life in Rio de Janeiro. In Brazil, where raw materials are considered precious treasures, artisans are often paid less than the full value for their labor. This artisan community guarantees Fair Trade practices to their creators, and they work to improve the artisans' education.

This family of artisans streamlines their profits back into their communities through donations to an organization that grants health care and schooling to disadvantaged Brazilian children. Due to Brazil's immense size and vast rural areas, boosting access to education is a high priority and I <3 that Hearts contributes to a brighter future.

The PMD review

Mar 26, 2013

Remember when I received my PMD in the mail and was so excited I had to Instagram a pic?? This month I've gotten to try out, and I'm absolutely loving it.

the PMD review

The PMD Personal Microderm is an amazing tool that allows you to do microdermabrasion on yourself at home. If you've been to a spa and had a facial before, you've probably had a microdermabrasion treatment. And you've probably noticed afterwards that your skin felt ridiculously smooth. Microderm treatments are a great way to even out your skin tone, smooth fine lines and just get rid of that first layer of dead skin. But these treatments are also really expensive! So I love that for the price of one microderm treatment, you can get the PMD and use it over and over each week.

When your PMD arrives in the mail, it comes with a user guide and DVD tutorial. You should definitely watch this so you know the ins and outs of the tool. Overuse or using it incorrectly can damage your skin. I was a little nervous at first, but I practiced on my leg and then my arm, and all was well. It's actually super easy. The PMD comes with different strength tips, so be sure to use the white practice tip first. Even with the gentle white tip, I could tell that my skin was smoother with just one use.

I'm a few weeks in (using my PMD once a week) and I'm loving it!! I've been using the blue tip and my skin is so smooth every time I use it. I'm talkin baby soft. Here are a few photos of me using my beloved PMD...

You're supposed to be able to see noticeable results within 6-8 weeks, but I can already tell a difference in my skin. The PMD has some awesome before and after photos on their website. Check out this gal:

And here's one beauty blogger's review and demo of the PMD:

So, I give the PMD 4 stars! You can order your own, here.

Dress ~ c/o Surbala (use discount code lovecount25 for 25% off)
Boots, pastel rings, flower ring ~ Forever 21
Clutch ~ c/o LARK
Bracelet ~ c/o Modern Vintage Studio
Rings ~ Vintage

I'm really lovin this flowery frock with the Peter Pan collar sent to me by Surbala. Peter Pan collars are super trendy right now, and I love them because there's something about them that makes a dress or top so feminine and cute, with a hint of a retro vibe.

This bright clutch from LARK (which stands for Life's a real kaleidoscope) is so fun and just one of their many brightly colored pieces. Perfect for a spring day or a night out. LARK's clutches are made by hand and you can read about her process here.

The cuff is from Modern Vintage Studio and went so perfectly with this dress, it'd be a crime not to pair the two. My sister spotted it while she was visiting and instantly fell in love. She's "borrowing" it, likely for an extended period of time. And you can have one of her pieces too! Modern Vintage Studio is giving away a gorgeous necklace to a WTFab reader (see photo below). Enter the giveaway below! Ends 3/29.

Sweater ~ c/o GetThis.tv
Leggings ~ c/o GetThis.tv
Purse ~ Chanel
Booties, earrings and cocktail ring ~ Forever 21
Rings ~ Jewelry stand at UCLA

I know this has happened to you, because I've experienced it a million times. You're watching a show, and some actress is wearing a top/dress/whatever and you can't help but want one for yourself.

Enter GetThis.tv, a new website and app that takes fashion from some of your fav tv shows, and makes it available online. Stylists from shows like Pretty Little Liars and Revenge also pick out some of their favorite pieces. On top of shopping the styles you've seen on screen, GetThis.tv also gives you access to styling and trends from costume designers and fashion forecasters.

These sparkly leggings are so much fun and I love this leopard print sweater that's studded and also has bullet holes. I wore this outfit with flats for a day of shopping with some girlfriends and changed into these booties for a night of bar hopping in the Mission.

Fashion-spiration ~ Just peachy

Mar 19, 2013

I'm in love with this Betsey Johnson necklace! It's a little crazy, but I think that's what I like about it. I'd pair it with an Audrey Hepburn style dress, like the one I wore to Jersey Boys, and a simple purse and peach shoes.

Jersey Boys

Mar 13, 2013

Dress ~ H&M
Shoes/cocktail ring ~ Forever 21
Clutch ~ Vintage, from my grandmother
Necklace ~ c/o Andrea Bocchio Jewelry
Rings ~ Jewelry stand at UCLA
Sunglasses ~ c/o Firmoo

Tuesday night I got to attend the opening night for the Broadway show, Jersey Boys! It's always fun to get dressed up for the theatre, and I went for a modern Audrey Hepburn look—after all, Breakfast at Tiffany's was the same decade that Jersey Boys is based in, and who doesn't love a good theme? The hand-crocheted necklace was sent to me by Andrea Bocchio Jewelry, and you'll have a chance to win it at the bottom of this post!

The show was awesome!! I'm not even going to pretend I'm an expert in musicals, but oh mah gawd can Nick Cosgrove sing! You don't have to be a Broadway connoisseur to appreciate his falsetto. Just wow. The show had me bouncin along in my seat and tapping my foot to every number—I had no idea that these songs that everyone knows all came from The Four Seasons. All the lickety-split set changes and costume changes were amazing. Three chicks play 51 roles in the play. Incredible.

Before the show, I was also invited to a cocktail hour with the cast of the Jersey Boys. "The boys," as they're affectionately referred to, were so sweet and absolutely adorable. One of my favorite quotes from the evening: "The only thing we have in common with the cast of Jersey Shore is the amount of gel in our hair."

Joy-zee juice. Get it?
When it was my turn to ask them a question, I commented on how sharp they were all looking that evening and asked who their favorite designers are.

Nick: [pointing at Michael] He's the best dresser out of all of us! He's the one that we borrowed all these tie clips from.
Michael: I feel like I'm on Project Runway right now.
John: I'd have to say Michael Kors. I really love all his pieces.
Miles: I mean, you can't go wrong with Calvin Klein. ...That's a brand, right?
Nick: I'm wearing a DKNY jacket and I love it so I'll stick with that!

The cast! Michael Lomenda, John Gardiner, Miles Jacoby, Nick Cosgrove. Aren't they adorable?

Thanks, boys!

Oh, what a night! So much fun. Jersey boys is in San Francisco until April 28th, and you can grab your tickets here

And as promised, here's the giveaway for the necklace worn in today's outfit post! Ends 3/22.
