Happy New Year!

Dec 31, 2013

2013 was such a wonderful year, and these silly little Flipagram videos have me reminiscing—and also in a slight state of shock over how quickly it went by. This 15 second video includes snaps from Beijing, Hong Kong, Seattle, Las Vegas, Monterey, LA, and somewhere over the frozen tundra of Russia. I'm grateful for all the adventure, love and fun that filled 2013.

Thank  you to everyone who has followed along on the blog with me this year. Your support, comments, likes, tweets, pins, regrams and shares (omg, social media overload) are all appreciated. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year full of happiness and success!

Here's a glammed out look just in time for New Years Eve, with lots of sparkle and lacy frills. As a matter of fact, my sister shot this outfit for me and we barely got a couple snaps in before she declared that she would be borrowing this Willow & Clay dress for New Year's. This dress' feminine fit and flare silhouette is super flattering (alliterations, anyone?) and pretty, and the polka dot tights add an element of girly surprise.

P.S. The fur coat is vintage, from my grandmother. While I'd never go out and buy my own, I did have a bit of a Phoebe moment when I tried it on. I'd like to start wearing it out more, but my dad is convinced I'll get red paint thrown on me in San Francisco. What do you think?

Earlier in December, the lovely ladies of 39nineteen invited me and a few of my blogger gal pals to a Style Chat brunch at the Neiman Marcus Rotunda. The giant Christmas tree in the center, twinkly lights and delicious mimosas and food made for the perfect setting to catch up with friends and also meet new ones. For some holiday-inspired style, I wore a crisp white coat with faux leather leggings and a bright pop of red. All of the sparkly jewelry is from Azil, and the earrings are my new favorite piece! I wore them to work the other day and my coworker (who loves all things sparkly) literally gasped when she saw them. And the wonderful gals at Azil are offering WTFab readers a 25% discount when you shop their boutique online! Use the discount code wtfab25 through Dec 31st. P.S. Their dainty rings selection is drool-worthy...

Holiday sweater nails

Dec 24, 2013

holiday nails

Merry Christmas Eve day, everyone! I've added some holiday cheer to my nails thanks to Top Coat and their new pop-up nail studio at the Crocker Galleria. To say this was my favorite nail studio experience ever would be a total understatement. I was amazed by all their fabulous designs and talented nail artists! Each week they come out with new designs, and I picked this "holiday sweater" one for a fun Chirstmas theme. How darling are these little snowflakes and Rudolphs? Can't wait to see what glammed-out nails they come up with for New Years!

Beehive bun tutorial with Pantene Pro-V

Dec 22, 2013

Thanks to Pantene, I'm bringing you guys the beehive bun tutorial that I promised back in October, just in time for the holidays! The beehive bun is a great holiday hairstyle that's easy to create. I'm not talented when it comes doing hair, so if I can do it, honestly, anyone can.

For a beehive bun, you will need: Hair spray (I'm using Pantene's Stylers Shaping Extra Strong Hold Spray), a comb, hair tie, lots of bobby pins. It would also probably help to have hair that is at least shoulder length.

Voila! Tweet me a pic if you do the beehive bun for the holidays: @WTFab1. I wore mine for a holiday party back in my home town. Outfit pics up soon!

Fav Pantene hair products

Dec 19, 2013

hair products

Guys, I'm excited to share with you a fun collab I'm doing with Pantene Pro-V! The "for hair so healthy it shines" brand and I are teaming up to bring you my next beauty/hair tutorial post later this week. I already have some Pantene products in my bathroom cabinet, and Pantene sent over a bunch more for me to try out. This post has some of my favorites so that you can try them out too. I love the first two—the Keratin Repair Oil and the Argan Oil—for keeping my hair healthy. The rest of the products are great for styling, especially for someone like me who has notoriously flat hair that doesn't like to hold a curl.

My next post with Pantene will include a hair tutorial with some of these products (I'm thinking beehive bun—perfect for the holidays!) and it'll be up soon!

In the meantime, thought I'd share their latest ad that's been creating quite a stir on the internetz. #ShineStrong

Monterey and Point Lobos

Dec 18, 2013

Sharing some photos from our trip to Monterey last month. We went on a whale watching adventure, ate tons of seafood and hiked up at Point Lobos. It was so nice to relax just the two of us—no laptops, no blogging.

[above] Big jellyfish! [below] It was a little bit chilly and windy on our whale watching trip.
[above] Look closely and you'll see a Risso Dolphin popping up to say hello! [below] Whales!
[above] Tons of sea lions hanging out. [below] This guy was on the dock when we pulled up to the pier and had to be shooed off so we could get back on land.
