Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I'm excited to share a few photos from our 4th of July BBQ with Black Box Wines. Funny enough, when I first shared Black Box on WTFab last July, it was from another BBQ with these same friends. This year, we escaped the San Francisco fog and traded it for a beautiful, warm day in our friends' sunny Redwood City backyard. Everyone contributed to our potluck-style BBQ, and clearly we were in charge of the wine. 

We decided to "lose the bottle" and bring our Black Box varietals—a Pinot Noir (4 bottles worth in that one box!), a Chardonnay, and a Cabernet Sauvignon. It was so convenient to throw these in a canvas bag and bring them down to the South Bay without having to worry about glass or even a bottle opener. With all that wine, we didn't quite finish it all; but I'm not worried, since the box will stay fresh for a month after opening. The California Pinot Noir is their newest varietal, with aromas of strawberry and cherry and notes of toasty oak. It's perfect for a wine and cheese appetizer pairing, and also delicate enough to go with red or white meat (I'd save a fish dish for the Cabernet Sauvignon), which was great for our BBQ.
