Eide shoma mobarak! That’s Farsi for Happy New Year.  Persians celebrate the new year on the first day of spring, which I love because there are so many things to look forward to with the spring season. Warmer weather, pretty pastels, nature blooming.

Today I’m sharing a springy look and a few beauty products from Target that I use when getting ready. Every. Single. Day. They’re the foundation to my look, and I may add other components if I’m getting dressed up for an event, but these basics can always be found in my beauty arsenal.

When I’m getting ready in the morning, I start with a couple dabs of concealer and then add a matte foundation. For my eyes, I like black, smudge-proof eyeliner, and a few coats of mascara to emphasize my long lashes. For lips, lip balm and a peachy color and I’m good to go. I also feel pretty naked without a fun color on my nails, so I reach for long-lasting polishes like Orly Color Amp’d.

To be honest, I really don’t spend much time on my hair in the mornings on weekdays. I gotta get out the door, people! I like to wrap it up in a low bun, and shake it out a few hours later so that my usually straight hair has some body and waves to it.

This look has a super easy equation behind it that's easy to replicate. Pretty floral print skirt + fun graphic tee = perfection.

How are you getting ready for spring?

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I wore this gorgeous green lace Nicole Miller dress from Rent The Runway to our friends' wedding a couple weekends ago. It was such a beautiful ceremony and I'm still getting all weepy every time I think about it!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Weekend Getaway

Mar 13, 2015

This post was created in partnership with Victoria's Secret and I have been compensated, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Happy Friday! Work has been slightly crazy lately (but it's all good because I'm learning a lot and I love my new team/role!), so I'm definitely craving a little weekend getaway. This weekend I'm packing my bags and heading to the foothills of Sacramento to visit my parents and sister while she's on spring break (omg, remember spring break? Miss that.).

I'm looking forward to lounging around in my new Victoria's Secret activewear, spending some quality time with the fam, and knocking some things off our wedding planning to do list. We'll be stuffing save the dates, tasting cake flavors (these new VS yoga pants will come in handy), and my sister and I will be booking travel for my upcoming bachelorette in Vegas! I'm definitely eyeing the Victoria Secret swim collection and dreaming of warmer days spent poolside in a cabana. Until then I've got some VS Self Tanner to add an instant glow to my legs. ;)

What are you up to this weekend?

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and timeshel, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #timeshelprints http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

I've been wanting to spruce up my workspace for a while now, and I've been collecting some fun prints and cards that inspire me. I wanted to install a few floating shelves on the wall above our desk, so that I could easily switch out prints without having to think about finding frames that fit, or taking the time to hang them. Another key piece that I wanted to include in this wall art was a printed selection of some of my favorite Instagrams. I think for a lot of people, Instagram houses some of your happiest memories. If you scroll through my insta feed you'll find travels and adventures, friends' weddings, the weekend Omied proposed, birthdays...Sometimes I wonder what will happen to all those beautiful photos and memories when Instagram is some day obsolete (I know that seems like a crazy thought right now since it's the social media platform du jour).

I was so excited when I found out about timeshel, a monthly subscription service that prints high quality photos of your Instagrams. It's such a simple idea and process, and I love the thought of having your monthly narrative told by your insta photo diary (clearly, I do a monthly Instagram recap on the blog). For my first timeshel I got a ton of different photos printed, and I plan to switch them out on my new shelves whenever I need some fresh inspiration. I also got a few extras printed to give to friends as gifts.

I love how these shelves and wall art turned out! They definitely added a breath of fresh air to my workspace.

If you're interested in getting some insta prints of your own, timeshel starts at $5.95/month for 10 prints, or $14.95/month for 30 prints (which is the option I went with) and is available for iOs on the App Store.

Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Paper Divas

Mar 4, 2015

This post is sponsored by Wedding Paper Divas. The photos and thoughts are all my own.

It's been a while since my last Wedding Wednesday update (we launched our wedding site, yay!), probably because Omied and I have both been so busy with work. But we're still squeezing in some planning here and there when we can, and we're currently tackling invitations. When Wedding Paper Divas reached out to me to partner on a post, I couldn't say yes fast enough! I've browsed their selection years before I ever even got engaged. When I was in grad school a friend had her bridal shower and wedding invitations printed through Wedding Paper Divas, and I remember scrolling through their beautiful selections, thinking about the day that I'd finally get to pick out wedding invites of my own.

Now that time has finally come, I'm seriously so thankful to have Wedding Paper Divas as a resource. What did people do before this site?? There's so much that goes into wedding invites, and WPD makes it easy to have a pulled together aesthetic across your stationery. I ordered some of their samples, and they're just so pretty!

Side note: How cute are these mini cupcakes and macarons? We happened to have these adorable sweets at home and it just felt wrong not to include them in the shoot.

There are so many invitation options, it's easy to feel overwhelmed when you first start looking. And I don't just mean designs, but paper weight, matte or glossy, envelopes, envelope lining, cut and shape of the card...All these tiny details that I never would have thought of. Getting the samples from Wedding Paper Divas was really helpful (bonus: they're free!), and we were able to narrow down the type of paper we want to use. We're still deciding on the design, but it will likely not be too "froo-frooey" (as Omied likes to say) and more clean/minimalist. I'll be sure to share photos in the coming months on the winning design!
