Beauty Stocking Stuffers

Nov 30, 2015

Happy almost December! Now that it's officially the holiday shopping season, I'm sharing a few new beauty products I've discovered that would make the perfect stocking stuffers. What I love about these products is that they're a little more unique and unexpected than your typical lipstick or eyeshadows...

1. Contour Palette - All the shades you need in one palette for highlighting, contouring and shading.
2. Lip Exfoliator - I've been using this lip exfoliator to keep my lips silky smooth this winter. Bonus: It tastes/smells like brown sugar.
3. HD Mattifying Balm - Pretty obsessed with this handy little compact. It has a pad at the bottom and one swipe of this balm mattifies skin and absorbs oil.
4. EcoTools Brushes - This mini brush sets and this festive set are both adorable. I also really like the variety in EcoTools' four piece set, which you can grab a coupon for $3 off if you're shopping at Walmart.

I always find shopping for office white elephant holiday gift exchanges to be a little difficult. You're trying to find something that a wide range of people would enjoy (it's super awkward if you're responsible for the dud gift that no one wants), and there's usually something like a ten dollar limit on the gift. Let's be real, how many things do you get excited about that only cost $10? This year I'll be packaging up an assorted box of GODIVA chocolates. I know it'll be a crowd-pleaser, and what's easier than swinging by Walmart to pick out a gift box? I picked out the assorted chocolates box, and was feeling a little sad when I shot these photos and packaged it up for the gift exchange that I hadn't bought a box for myself to have around at home. That is, until I got to my parents' house for Thanksgiving and saw my mom had picked some out from Walmart for the holidays too. Good job, mom. ;)

Visit Walmart this holiday season for GODIVA Chocolate Gift Boxes. Available in three 9PC varieties and also a 15PC Dark All-of-a-Kind (while supplies last).

noosa

Nov 28, 2015

In yesterday's post, I mentioned that noosa invited me to try some "noo" things this month, so today I'm sharing my top three flavor picks that I recently tried. Pumpkin because, duh, fall, strawberry rhubarb because it's like a delicious pie, and lemon for a bit of zing...

I'm looking forward to indulging in more of noosa's yummy flavors. What new things have you tried this month?

This month, noosa yoghurt invited me to try some "noo" things in the city. Living in San Francisco, there's never a shortage of new things to try. We settled on a hip hop dance show at the Palace of Fine Arts, since Omied and I were going to be there to shoot family portraits for friends last weekend. I wore this outfit to the show—I'm obsessed with this giant square windowpane scarf that I picked up in Paris (thinking of doing a post on different ways to style a square, oversized scarf), and I thought the lines of these edgy tights paired nicely with the scarf. I kept everything else neutral so the lines/patterns didn't get too overwhelming.

The other "noo" thing I've tried recently? noosa yoghurt, of course. At work I've noticed that we've been stocking noosa yoghurt in the fridge, and one of my coworkers mentioned its their absolute favorite because of its rich, creaminess. I tried a couple of their staple flavors (lemon, blueberry and cherry), and I've recently picked up a few more seasonal flavors that I can't wait to share in an upcoming post.

Wedding Part 4: Reception

Nov 25, 2015

So excited to share part 4/4 of our wedding photos today! (See our getting ready + first look photos in Part 1, pre-ceremony photos in Part 2, and the ceremony in Part 3.) Both our ceremony and reception were in the beautiful courtyard of The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Town Sacramento. We were so in love with our venue! It felt cozy, warm, and intimate; exactly how we wanted our wedding to feel. Some of the most surreal moments of our wedding were when Omied and I had a few seconds to look around and see everyone we loved from all phases of our lives enjoying themselves and adding love and joy to our wedding day. It was so special, and we couldn't have felt more lucky.

So in love with our sofreh. The handmade kaleh ghand, flower made of bread, and esfand flower were all from etsy.

Another awesome etsy find. These "I Do," "Me Too" forks were at our head table for dinner.

So in love with our grey lace table runners! The etsy shop has all different colors and custom lengths. They were just beautiful on our tables.

We did s'mores for our wedding favors and found these little kits on etsy. We also had surprise balls at the tables with kids, and they were a total hit!
