Holiday Weekend

4th of July outfit
We did a little staycation and kept things super low key for this year’s long Fourth of July weekend. We toyed with the idea of doing a weekend trip, but I’m traveling a ton in July both for work and for fun, so staying home in SF sounded more appealing than packing our bags. On Saturday we spent the day neighborhood hopping with friends, starting in the Haight for brunch, skipping to Fillmore Street for the jazz festival, jokingly saying we should go to the Marina if we felt like bro-ing out (and then actually going to the Marina and grabbing a lovely seat in the back patio at Tipsy Pig), and finally making our way to North Beach for dinner at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the city, Don Pistos. After that cross-city extravaganza, we kept things local in the Mission for Fourth of July, and had a lazy breakfast at home before heading to Dolores Park where we picnicked, read and napped under the sun mist, because July 4th in the city is foggy as shit. I was wearing the above outfit, so way before it was night time and time for fireworks we headed back home because it was getting chilly. We watched fireworks on tv from all the other normal cities that are actually experiencing summer, and when San Francisco’s came on it was more like glowing fog. Oh well, still love ya, SF.
