Sachin & Babi Dress (c/o) Rent The Runway // Ciner Necklace (c/o) Rent The Runway // Forever 21 Shoes // Target Clutch // House of Harlow Earrings (c/o) Rocksbox

Last weekend we went to a wedding and I got to dress up in this beautiful, shimmery gold Sachin & Babi dress. The fabric was just gorgeous and the Ciner statement necklace was the perfect added touch of sparkle, which brightened up the gloomy and rainy day.

Croque Madame Recipe

Jan 21, 2016

We've been missing our French honeymoon, so we decided to have some friends over and made one of our favorite brunch dishes that we had in the city of lights—Croque Madame. They're actually pretty easy to make—and all the better when your friend brings homemade bread. Oh, and what's the difference between croque monsieur and croque madame? Croque madame has a fried egg on top of it (which clearly makes it better). We whipped up this Food Network croque madame recipe and it was delish!

Ingredients:
6 ounces unsalted butter, divided
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup whole milk
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
8 slices thick sourdough bread
8 to 12 slices good quality ham (about 3/4 pound) (we got the black forest ham at Whole Foods)
12 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated
Nonstick spray
4 eggs

Make the bechamel (pronounced beh-sha-mehl) sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt 1 ounce butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes. Do not allow it to brown. Add the milk and bay leaf and cook, stirring from time to time, until the mixture thickens like a soup, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and stir in the Parmesan. Transfer to a bowl to cool.

Arrange 4 pieces of bread. Top each piece with 2 to 3 slices of ham. Mix together half of the Gruyere cheese and the bechamel sauce. Taste for seasoning. Spread a little of the sauce on top of the ham and top each with another slice of bread.

Heat a large cast iron skillet and, when hot, add half of the remaining butter. Add 2 of the sandwiches and brown on one side, 2 minutes. Turn on the other side and brown 2 more minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet and repeat with the remaining butter and sandwiches. Spread the remaining bechamel on top of the sandwiches and top with the other half of the Gruyere cheese.

Wipe any crumbs from the cast iron skillet and spray with nonstick spray. Crack 4 eggs into the skillet, leaving a little room between each. (Alternatively, fry 2 at a time). While the eggs are frying, place the sandwiches under the broiler and broil until the top becomes golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Season the eggs with salt and top each sandwich with a fried egg. Serve immediately and enjoy your yummy Parisian brunch!

Was anyone else feeling like #PraiseEmojiHands for the long MLK weekend? After the holidays, my team at Google hit the ground running, and I'm prepping for several big events that I'm so excited for, but that are also making my head spin. So when the three day weekend popped up on my calendar after just a couple busy weeks back at work, I promised myself I'd relax and enjoy some me time!

For me, relaxing includes getting inspiration for new posts and content for WTFab. And as I'm planning for new content in 2016 (so excited to be making cinemagraphs this year!), I thought it'd be the perfect time to cozy up in bed during the rainy weekend with a cup of tea and some style magazines. I picked up InStyle® and People StyleWatch® from Safeway and curled up on our new duvet cover/comforter (that I'm obsessed with for its silky smoothness!). I got some great inspo for new posts, like how to re-wear your New Year's Eve dress, and some closet organization tips. After taking some me time over the long weekend, I'm feeling rejuvenated and inspired. Ready to crush 2016 with me?

Take advantage of $1.00 off participating titles (PEOPLE®, InStyle®, People StyleWatch®, Real Simple®, and Sunset®) with this digital offer until 2/15/16 while supplies last.

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, PEOPLE StyleWatch® and InStyle® Magazines but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #NewYearMeTime http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Banana Republic Top // GAP Jeans // Ecco Shoes // JJ Suspenders

Today is my handsome hubby's outfit post debut on the blog! Usually he's the one behind the lens taking my photos, but for this occasion I coerced him into swapping our usual roles for a fun project. I think the funniest/best part was when it took him all of 15 minutes to put together his outfit and do his hair (compared to the hour I usually spend on my outfit, accessories, hair, and makeup), after which he said, "Getting ready for an outfit post is exhausting!"

We recently had a poker night with friends and it was so much fun, it sparked the idea for us to host a poker night in a new location. There's a new floor in Google's SF office that has a speakeasy and a hidden poker room, so we went to check it out. Omied looked the part and was rocking his new leather suspenders from JJ Suspenders. The company designs fresh, high quality suspenders and they have a huge assortment of stylish options (I'm also really into these polka dot navy ones). It's amazing how just strapping on some suspenders can take a guy's outfit to a whole new level. With Valentine's Day coming up, these would be the perfect gift for your special someone!

Thanks to JJ Suspenders for sponsoring this post and outfitting Omied in some stylish suspenders!

How to plan the perfect wedding timeline

Jan 14, 2016

This post could also be titled, "How to project manager the shit out of your wedding." ;) Over the last year while we were planning our wedding, I've had several coworkers and friends get engaged too. They've all asked for the wedding run of show (fancy event-planner speak for timeline), that I created for our big day to help them with their planning. Being that I'm Type A and plan events (the two really go hand in hand—you can't really be Type B and a successful event planner), I used a lot of the same tools to plan our wedding that I use to keep me organized when planning an event for Google. And I'm going to share them with you today to help any bride-to-be's (or future bride-to-be's who want to pin this for later) plan their perfect wedding timeline like a pro!

Google Docs. If you're familiar at all with Google Docs (or are down to learn how to use them), I'd highly recommend using them for planning your wedding because they're perfect for collaboration and are live docs that immediately update with any changes you make, so no need for sending attachments with updated versions. Everything is then stored in folders in Google Drive, which makes it easy to access from anywhere—which is key when you have to take a few minutes out of your work day to answer a call from your florist who you've been playing phone tag with for a week and you need one of your wedding docs handy, rather than stored on your laptop at home. We used a doc for our wedding music playlist so that Omied and I could add songs into it, as well as my mom and sister. We also had a doc for our Persian ceremony script that Omied and I worked on together, later sharing with our officiant and Omied's best man who spoke during the Persian part of the ceremony. And of course, our wedding timeline was created in a Google Sheet.

Wedding Timeline. Since our wedding timeline was also created in a Google Sheet, it was easy to share with all of our vendors (photographers, videographers, coordinator, officiant, DJ, hair stylists, makeup artist) to make sure that everyone was on the same page. And as small changes in the timeline needed to be made in the weeks leading up to the wedding, everyone had the up to date schedule at their finger tips. Within the wedding timeline I also linked to relevant docs, like specific playlists during cocktail hour, or the Persian speech doc for that part of the ceremony. I created different tabs for the day before the wedding (including a timeline and what to pack so I didn't forget anything), the wedding day timeline, vendor contact info, and bridal party contact info. Feel free to check out our wedding timeline and make a copy of it to use it as a template to edit for your own wedding!

Closet Cleanout

One of my goals for the start of 2016 was to have a lighter apartment to go along with a fresh new year. Omied and I did a huge purge where we went through every corner of our apartment, with particular focus on our closets (ok, it was mostly me purging my sides of our over-flowing closets). We spent an entire three day weekend filling giant boxes and bags with stuff and labeling them for either trash, Goodwill or storage.

For storage, we used Omni, which I couldn't wait to try it out as soon as I'd heard about it. Omni is a storage service that has totally blown my mind. When you download the app you can schedule a pick up, and they will come pick up everything you want to store. The amazing part is, they bring everything back to their warehouse and take photos of all your things that you're storing. When you want something back, you just tap its photo on the app and check it out, and Omni will deliver it to you.

I stored about 40 dresses with Omni since the weather is chilly right now.

Within an hour everything Omni came to pick up from our apartment was photographed and on the app.

Snorkeling gear is perfect to store with Omni, since we use it probably once a year.
Our apartment feels so much lighter after our huge clean out and we're so happy about it! Omni is such an awesome storage solution and perfect for city living. The pricing is super reasonable and so worth freeing up some space and decluttering your home. I plan on switching items out as the seasons change. If you'd like to give Omni a try, be sure to use this link for a $25 credit (that's enough to store over 80 dresses your first month!).

Winter Wonderland

Jan 12, 2016

After Christmas we went up to Tahoe to spend the weekend with Omied's family in a cabin by Zephyr Cove. The snow was so fluffy and pretty and the lake was freezing over. Here are a few snaps from our weekend in a winter wonderland!
